About The Course

The Safeguarding Children Level 1 & 2 (Children First) course offers comprehensive training for healthcare workers involved in the care, support, or protection of children and young people across the UK and Ireland. It builds a clear understanding of safeguarding principles, enabling learners to identify different forms of abuse, understand complex risks such as exploitation, radicalisation, and FGM, and respond appropriately to disclosures or suspicions of harm. Learners explore the latest laws and policies, including the Children Act, Children First legislation, and relevant national guidance such as Working Together to Safeguard Children and Keeping Children Safe in Education. Emphasis is placed on professional responsibilities, inter-agency collaboration, accurate documentation, and making timely referrals.
