It supports new care workers to understand their job role, rights, duties and responsibilities. It includes the differences between personal and professional relationships, and being able to work in partnership with other people- including colleagues, service users, seniors and other care staff.

About The Course

This module is aimed  to support new care workers to understand their job role, rights, duties and responsibilities. It includes the differences between personal and professional relationships, and being able to work in partnership with other people- including colleagues, service users, seniors and other care staff.

  • Describe the main duties and responsibilities associated with your role
  • Recall the standards and codes of conduct that apply to work within your role
  • Acknowledge the central role that previous experiences, attitudes and beliefs can play in influencing someone's day to day practice
  • Discuss your employment rights and responsibilities
  • Recall the aims, objectives and values of the service in which you work
  • Know how and when to escalate concerns at work, and define what is meant by the use of the term 'whistleblowing'
  • Explain the importance of openness and honesty in regard to errors you may make within your practice
  • Recall the differences between personal and professional relationships
  • Explain why it is important to work in partnership with others
  • Describe ways in which you can work in partnership with others within your day to day practice
  • List the core principles of conflict resolution, as applied to working in partnership with another person or service and identify sources of additional support
