Early Chronic Pancreatitis - Are You Missing It?
Early Chronic Pancreatitis – Are You Missing It? is a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) course designed for healthcare professionals working in general practice, gastroenterology, nursing, emergency medicine, pharmacy, dietetics, and community healthcare settings. The course provides an evidence-based overview of chronic pancreatitis, with a particular focus on early recognition, risk factors, diagnosis, lifestyle management, pharmacological treatment, and emerging diagnostic approaches. Chronic pancreatitis is a progressive inflammatory condition characterised by irreversible pancreatic damage, fibrosis, and loss of both exocrine and endocrine pancreatic function. Early disease may be difficult to diagnose because symptoms can be intermittent, subtle, or overlap with other gastrointestinal conditions. Delayed diagnosis may lead to chronic pain, malnutrition, diabetes, pancreatic insufficiency, and significantly impaired quality of life.
