Identifying Neurodevelopmental Concerns in Children
Neurodevelopmental disorders in children represent a diverse group of conditions that affect cognitive, behavioral, social, and motor functioning. Early identification is critical, as timely intervention can significantly improve long-term outcomes. This course provides a comprehensive and practical approach to recognizing early neurodevelopmental concerns in pediatric populations. Participants will explore the spectrum of neurodevelopmental conditions, including autism spectrum disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, learning disabilities, and developmental delays. The course emphasizes the importance of developmental surveillance and screening in routine clinical practice. Special focus is given to early warning signs, risk factors, and the role of caregivers and educators in identifying concerns. Evidence-based screening tools and referral pathways are also discussed to support early diagnosis and intervention.
