Obesity Cases – A Practical Approach is a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) course designed for healthcare professionals involved in primary care, endocrinology, nursing, dietetics, bariatric medicine, pharmacy, allied health, and community health services. This course provides a practical and evidence-based overview of obesity management, including lifestyle interventions, pharmacotherapy, behavioural support, endoluminal therapies, bariatric surgery, and long-term weight management strategies. Obesity is a chronic, relapsing, multifactorial disease influenced by genetics, metabolism, environment, psychological factors, social determinants, and neurohormonal regulation. It is associated with increased risk of cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, sleep apnoea, osteoarthritis, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, infertility, mental health conditions, and reduced quality of life.
