Stroke Care Fundamentals
Stroke is one of the leading causes of death and long-term disability worldwide and remains a major public health concern in Canada. Prompt recognition, rapid assessment, evidence-based treatment, and coordinated multidisciplinary care significantly improve survival rates and functional recovery for individuals affected by stroke. Every healthcare professional involved in patient care has an important role in recognising stroke symptoms, initiating emergency responses, supporting acute treatment, facilitating rehabilitation, and promoting secondary prevention.
