- Understand the rising incidence of prostate cancer in Ireland and recognise key risk factors, including age, family history, ethnicity, and genetic predisposition (e.g. BRCA mutations).
- Interpret and apply Irish clinical guidance from HSE and NCCP, using a risk-based and patient-centred approach to early detection rather than fixed national screening protocols.
- Identify health inequalities in prostate cancer across Ireland, including disparities related to socioeconomic status, geography, and access to healthcare services.
- Assess patients for prostate cancer using comprehensive clinical evaluation, including history-taking, symptom assessment, and appropriate use of PSA testing.
